New York City Ends Mandatory Vaccination Requirement for Private Employers Effective November 1, 2022

Yesterday, the office of New York City Mayer Eric Adams announced the end of the City’s mandatory vaccination requirement for private employers.

Effective November 1, 2022, private employers in New York City will no longer be required to ensure that employees, who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business, show proof that they have received a COVID-19 vaccine.

Going forward, the vaccination requirement will convert from mandatory to optional, and the City encourages private businesses to put their own policy in place.
